ASUS BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS 12X Blu-ray Internal Burner Drive with Disc Encryption - Black - Retail Box - My Personal Recommendation
Works great for me so far
I've only had 3 bad discs made from this drive so far and those were all DIGISTOR 50GB BD-R Media, 6X (5 pack)
The Verbatim 97237 50 GB 6x Blu-ray Double Layer Recordable Disc BD-R DL, 3-Disc Jewel Case works great with this drive from what I've seen. I use DVD Architect to author my home videos and it is able to play the movies in my Sony BD Player.
So far my experience with this drive has been thoroughly enjoyable, and it still runs as fast and quietly as when I first purchased it a few months ago. Dual Layer Disc it takes about 2 hours to write data to the disc, 25GB BD-R Takes around 45 minutes to an hour to write to, and DVDs take around 20-30 minutes to write to.
Update: Figured I'd add an update to say that the drive is working great still and running just as fast as it did when I first purchased it.

I have ripped and burned DVDs and Blu-rays without making a bad one.
When a disc spins-up the sound isn't that loud. My bad Blu-ray burner was a Pioneer and it was much louder.
The only issue I noticed was sometimes ripping a audio cd the drive will make errors when the drive is at it's max speed. Too fix this issue I dropped the speed down to 16x. Firmware version is 1.02 I'm hoping the next firmware update will take care of this error issue.
This is a OEM so no sata cable OKGear 18" Premium SATA III Round Cable 6GB/s. There is a CD with bundled software in the box.
The Microsoft Windows Driver 6.1.7601.17514 6/21/2006 works perfectly with this Blu-ray burner. No ASUS driver available for this burner.
